2018 Website Redesign
2013 Website Overhaul
2018 Website Redesign Project
Five years after the 2013 design update, the Town of Gilbert's website needed a comprehensive refresh. As the project lead, I managed the budget and collaborated closely with the vendor's project manager on design, timeline, and research. Leveraging analytics and survey data, our primary objective was to streamline content and navigation, making the site more service-focused.
With over 80 content managers involved, it was crucial to ensure they were well-trained and informed. I organized and conducted trainings and workshops covering writing principles, user personas, and best practices for content management. Additionally, I provided open office hours to offer personalized support and address any questions or challenges, ensuring that content was edited and organized effectively.

2013 Website Management and Transition
Prior to 2013, the website was hosted and managed in-house by the IT department. However, due to new leadership and desired technological goals for the website, management was transitioned to my position. Without the backend support, I decided to migrate to a web-based content management system (CMS), which required a complete overhaul. Over 2,000 web pages, documents and forms were looked over before recreating in the new system. A new site map was designed using analytics data.
As the project lead, I managed the budget, interviewed potential vendors, and oversaw content migration and sitemap restructuring. After the new site launched, I was responsible for onboarding and training new content managers. This transition fundamentally changed our internal processes by breaking down silos and empowering departments to manage their content. While there were initial concerns about increased workload, these were quickly alleviated by the system's ease of use and the newfound sense of ownership and accountability it fostered among staff.
